Omar, Muhammad, and Yazan are three 12-year-old Muslim boys from the crime-ridden city of Lod, navigating the final year of elementary school and the challenges of growing up: Omar faces his father's illness, Yazan must confront the fallout of his violent behavior, and Muhammad prepares to leave his beloved hometown and his friends. When Ella, an elderly Jewish immigrant from the former Soviet Union, starts a school choir, she offers them a safe, magical space that contrasts the harsh realities outside the classroom--a place where the true journey unfolds within their hearts. The film premiered at Docaviv 2019 under its former title, Open Your Mouth.
