In 2017, 119 million people in Europe lived below the breadline. Poor Europe travels across the continent to meet the deprived children, jobless young adults and working poor behind that statistic, looking past economics to the human reality of marginalization in one of the world's wealthiest regions.

Why This Film Matters: It confronts a crisis that is easy to ignore, insisting that poverty in modern Europe is a political choice rather than an accident, a clear-eyed call to look at who gets left behind.
