Camping with friends usually means a beach and a summer bonfire. The Doorstep Project does the opposite: a crew braves an entire winter living out of a small 24-foot Ford Econoline camper, taking their mobile home around the province of British Columbia in search of snow. The idea was simple, chase winter, and let the road decide the rest. Why This Film Matters: Committing to a season on the road, in the cold, for the love of skiing is a rejection of comfort in favour of experience. The Doorstep Project is a scrappy, joyful celebration of that choice, and of the way self-imposed hardship can turn an ordinary winter into an adventure worth filming.
