The Howlin' Wolf Story traces the life of Chester "Howlin' Wolf" Burnett, from the Mississippi Delta to the Chicago blues clubs where his thunderous voice and towering presence reshaped American music. Through rare performance footage and interviews with those who knew him, the film follows his rise from sharecropper to one of the most influential bluesmen of all time.

Why This Film Matters: Howlin' Wolf's sound ran straight into the DNA of rock & roll, echoing through the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and beyond. This is both an intimate portrait of a complicated giant and a reminder of how much of popular music was built on the blues he helped define.
