Software developers Themba and Tayo pour everything into Easy Go, a Lagos-based rideshare app that begins to take off, until unfavourable regulations, corruption, and police brutality threaten to tear it all down. Freedom Way, the feature debut of director Afolabi Olalekan, follows two young founders as their entrepreneurial dream collides with the machinery of state power.

Why This Film Matters: Drawn from real headlines and lived experience, Freedom Way is a pointed indictment of the human-rights abuses and everyday corruption that weigh on a generation of young Nigerians. By putting a human face on police brutality and institutional failure, it turns urgent national questions into a story that lands anywhere power goes unchecked.
