One Day Ahead
51m
Every July the Tour de France crowns the world's best. One Day Ahead follows a very different peloton: a team of amateurs who ride every brutal stage of the route one day before the professionals, chasing no yellow jersey but a fundraising goal for blood-cancer research. Over three weeks and thousands of kilometres, exhaustion, mechanicals and sheer willpower test whether ordinary riders can go the distance.
Why This Film Matters: It reframes the world's hardest bike race as an act of service, turning suffering on the bike into hope for patients, a moving portrait of endurance with a purpose and of what people will put their bodies through for someone else.
