Robert Clary was twelve years old and singing on French radio when the world he knew ended. In 1942, the youngest of fourteen children was taken by the Nazis — along with most of his family. He survived Ottmuth, forced labor, and Buchenwald. Twelve members of his family did not. Liberated on April 11, 1945, Clary rebuilt his life through the only thing the camps couldn't take from him: his talent. He sang his way from Paris to Broadway to Hollywood, becoming beloved as Corporal Louis LeBeau on Hogan's Heroes. In this deeply personal documentary — the third from the Holocaust Education Film Foundation — Clary tells his own story, joined by his nephew Brian Gari, with archival photographs from Clary's private collection and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
